New Nordics AI
Digital Dogme is the Danish partner and strategic co-founder of New Nordics AI – a joint Nordic-Baltic center for applied artificial intelligence. We represent Denmark in this ambitious collaboration and are responsible for focusing on strategy, policy, skills, and responsible use of AI.
Together with our Nordic sister organizations, we will ensure that AI is used thoughtfully, creates value, and strengthens both innovation and social responsibility. Denmark already has strong foundations through the AI Skills Pact, our broad business partnerships, and a growing movement for ethical digital transformation – and we are now bringing this into play internationally.

About New Nordics AI
The Nordic and Baltic countries have joined forces to establish a joint center for artificial intelligence (AI) – called New Nordics AI. The purpose is to promote responsible development and application of AI across the region. The center serves as a focal point to support companies and organizations in developing AI responsibly and act as a driving force for ethical AI innovation throughout the Nordic region.
In 2023, Nordic Innovation gathered 23 experts in a Nordic expert group for ethical AI. The group’s key recommendation was to establish a Nordic Center for Responsible AI – a unifying force to help both businesses and public actors develop and implement AI in a responsible, effective, and value-creating manner.
This recommendation was strengthened when 140 top executives, ministers, and stakeholders met on August 30, 2024, at Christiansborg for the High-Level Forum for AI Readiness. The forum stated that the Nordic region should take the lead in Europe’s AI development and that a joint Nordic center for applied AI is the focal point that can ensure the Nordic region becomes a global frontrunner in responsible AI application – benefiting both the region and Europe.
New Nordics AI is supported with 30 million kroner from the Nordic Council of Ministers and backing from 27 ministers, and is established in collaboration with five founding organizations: AI Sweden, AI Finland, Digital Dogme, IKT-Norge, and Almannarómur. All Nordic and Baltic countries will eventually be represented in the community, and each national organization functions as a national hub where employees from the center are located.
The center will be officially launched on October 22 in Helsinki.
Opportunities for collaboration
The center will be open for collaboration with actors from across the Nordic and Baltic regions.
The overall goal is to promote the spread of artificial intelligence, strengthen joint strategic investments, and increase the region’s international competitiveness.
