IDA represents 180.000 engineers, science graduates, and IT specialists who make up a large part of Denmark’s workforce and possess the skills needed to future-proof the country. Geopolitical tensions and the rapid development of AI are significantly changing the conditions for security, growth, and jobs in Denmark and the EU.

This new reality calls for strong digital and AI-related skills across the labor market. We must both upskill the many talented people with technical expertise we already have today and educate even more with the technical competencies needed in the future. As a professional association and community for technology and science professionals, IDA sees a natural alignment with the purpose of the AI Skills Pact.

IDA is joining the AI Skills Pact to strengthen the collective effort and contribute to the overall upskilling of AI competencies, in order to secure competitiveness, safety, and technological sovereignty.

IDA has already taken steps to upskill its own employees in AI. The first 80 have already completed AI training, with more to follow. At IDA, we recognize that AI will continue to be a crucial tool to analyze patterns and trends in member surveys and to provide members with fast and accurate responses to their questions. Both areas are already being explored at IDA.
