Ledernes Hovedorganisation

At Lederne, we see artificial intelligence as an essential part of the leadership toolbox of the future. The technology is not only transforming how we work – but also how we lead, make decisions, and create value.

Lederne is Denmark’s largest professional community for leaders and trusted employees. We work to equip leaders for the labour market of the future – and right now, that means taking an active role in the development of AI. Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, collaborate, and lead. At Lederne, we see AI not just as a technology that changes our everyday tools, but as something that reshapes the very foundation of modern leadership. That’s why Lederne is a founding partner in the AI Kompetencepagten.

AI places entirely new demands on leadership competencies. The leaders of the future must understand the principles and potential of artificial intelligence. They must be able to ask the right questions and make the right decisions when AI becomes part of the business. This is about ethics and responsibility, about building trust in a digital age, and about balancing technological efficiency with human judgment. Therefore, Lederne is working purposefully to ensure that Danish leaders not only keep up with developments – but actively shape them.

Within Lederne, all leaders and employees have completed a joint development and training programme on AI.The programme included a full-day workshop and a series of masterclasses focusing on ethics, opportunities, and practical applications of AI. The aim is to foster curiosity, understanding, and action when engaging with technology. In addition, everyone has access to a digital learning space where they can deepen their knowledge of AI in the coming years.

We have also implemented AI in our internal work processes, which have become widely automated. Many employees already work with their own personal AI assistant, and operations have become more efficient and consistent – for example, through AI-generated phone notes and AI-based document processing. We actively use the insights gained from this work in our advice and knowledge sharing with members.

For our members, AI competence development is high on the agenda, and we are seeing enormous interest in our courses.Through Ledernes Kompetencecenter, hundreds of participants have completed the academy course Application of Artificial Intelligence (10 ECTS), while many others have attended courses on Generative AI and ChatGPT. At the same time, more than 1,000 unemployed members have participated in AI webinars within just a few months.

AI as both a theme and a method is now integrated across many other training programmes and courses. We also offer leadership inspiration webinars where several hundred leaders have gained insights into how AI can be used strategically in management and business.

We also help our members use AI in their own career development. Our JobMatch tool allows members to upload their CV and receive AI-matched job suggestions, while CV Check provides personalised feedback on 23 parameters defined by our experienced career advisors.

For us, AI is not just about efficiency – it’s about making better decisions, building stronger organisations, and achieving more sustainable growth. In an era of explosive technological development, leadership’s role is to translate technology’s potential into human value. This requires leaders who dare to experiment, who take responsibility for ethical dimensions – and who are willing to use AI as a driving force for innovation and well-being.

“Business leaders expect artificial intelligence to change the competence requirements of the labour market. AI will bring major changes in the coming years, and it is therefore crucial that both employees and leaders receive education and continuing training. Only in this way can we harness the enormous opportunities that AI offers.”– Bodil Nordestgaard Ismiris, CEO of Lederne
